with Dan Morris, percussion
One afternoon I sat at the piano just as the sun was beginning to set over the Pacific Ocean. The light was stunning and brilliant as I began to play and this piece emerged. I often watch the waves at sunset and never tire of the beauty of the ocean and the light at this time of day, my feet grounded in the warm sand, bathing in the golden sienna hue. I’m awed by the sense of belonging I often experience at this time, knowing that as the sun slips over the horizon, it simultaneously rises on another community and continent – all sharing this connectedness to the sun and water.
